How can I become a user?
For new users who wish to participate in the MOSS Project for the first time, the status (user or member) is set according to the data on unique visitors on the basis of internal user measurements or other relevant online audience measurements.
If a user in one calendar year of MOSS participation exceeds the total reach average of 8% of his/her own online media, the publisher is obliged to participate in the MOSS project as a member, if not, the publisher loses his/her right to install the code for measurement and to use the results of MOSS.
What can a user gain by participating in MOSS?
By signing an agreement on cooperation and upon payment of a participation fee, users gain the right to install the code for measurement on their websites and the right to use the results of the MOSS Project to a limited extent, however, they do not have the right to participate or vote within the bodies of the MOSS Project.
A user is allowed to access the DotMetrics tool for a daily data monitoring of the measurement for their own website. Each month users receive a standardized traffic report (MOSS Certificate) with the results of their own websites.
The following data are included in the Certificate:
- data on the reach of a website: the measured reach in Slovenia, evaluated additional reach abroad, monthly, weekly and daily traffic, average number of page views per visitor, average number of visits per visitor, average time per visitor
- data on the socio-demographic structure of Slovenian visitors of the website: sex, age, education, status, average monthly net income, region.
Financial Obligation of the MOSS User
The only financial obligation is the payment of the yearly participant fee for each online media which takes part in the research. The participant fee is set with a fixed price:
- €250,00 + VAT for websites which do not exceed 3% of the total reach of all online space measured with MOSS. 3% of the total reach means approx. 45,000 different Slovenian users a month.
- €350,00 + VAT for websites which do not exceed 8% of the total reach of all online space measured with MOSS. 8% of the total reach means approx. 117,000 different Slovenian users a month.
The participant fee is charged for each website in the current year (regardless of the date of admission) and can be changed for the following years of the MOSS Project with a decision made by the competent MOSS body. The MOSS body notifies the user in writing about the decision taken.
